    Question about a KM flag authenticity

    Hello,

    A collector has available for sale a very unusual KM flag that consists of a standard nazi flag (swastika) printed on a much larger piece of cloth light brown. This is not the usual KM Reichskriegsflagge: that's definitely a nazi party flag type. The flag has the KM acceptance mark on it: an eagle over M except it seems to me that's a very early type of eagle, possibly a Reichswehr style one. Other markings consist of "Flg, an unknown sign and dimensions: 2.0 x 2.4" According to the owner, the flag is made of flax and was the property of a Chief of Port (or whatever name a chief of port bears...)

    I would appreciate comments and opinions about the authenticity of that flag. I have doubts but maybe it's an early type dating back before 1935. I would gladly send pictures to anyone willing to upload these on this site as I have no idea how.

    Thanks in advance,

    Gaetan

    Hello Gaetan:
    Sounds like an early 3rd Reich Gosch (bow jack) flag.

        KM flag authenticity

        Thanks!

        oldflagswanted: the marking on the flag in question is identical to the one at the top left of your picture (early);

        KM-NZ: I would gladly post a few pictures but have no idea how. I would prefer to email the pictures to anyone willing to post these on my behalf.

            KM flag

            It looks like that the flag in question is a Pilot Harbor flag and from the marking, an early pre-1935 one. I believe it to be original.
