    Seeberufsfachschules question

    Hi all!

I have this Seeberufsfachschule Neuwied sleeve patch, and I plan to assemble the uniform with it. As I cannot find much info (one photo from Internet with the patch in wear is below), I'd like to discuss is a bit with the more knowlegdeable colleagues.

On the photo below the patch is sewn on the left sleeve, with the eagle above.
Also, I can see the "zur see" star on the lower part of the sleeve.

So, at first I'd like to know if this jacket is Colani (as it looks to me), but if it is how it comes to have star on the sleeve, as an officer sleeve insignia.

    Any info is much appreciated.

A very interesting photo. This is the first photo I have seen where a sailor had a eagle displayed much like the SS?
I can't offer any input, I am using this post to sort of bookmark for my own follow-up later on. Very interesting.

Hello, I have two original portraits of a Seeberufsfachschulen, including the one showed by Andjelo.

The uniforms that these students wore were the same than in the KM, I have a portrait with the peajackets and the other with the sailor blue shirt, and in both the tellermütze. In both they wore the national emblem (eagle) on the left upper sleeve and the shield with the name of the town of the school just below it.

And the sleeve officer's insignia (star) was in wear on peajcket, it seems?

I'd love to compose one such jacket, so i'd like to get more info ;-9

The sleeve see man star is IMO like the Kriegsmarine EM carrer badge. As I only hev seen my two portraits I'm not sure about the use of this insignia. In the piccture with the blue jumper I can not see the sleeve so I don't know oif this was used only on the peajacket or also on it, and I have no information about any dressing regulation for these schools. I can see that no eagle were used on the breast but on the left upper sleeve and the cyty shield, that's all.

Yes, you're right I think. When compared to officer's reefer, this star is much larger, so it's seamen star which is usually worn above the elbow on the left sleeve.

I found this (your) photo on some Russian forum. I'll take this one as a rewference.

                Thanks

a well-known photograph, which popped up over ten years ago in Germany. It is a reproduction what is most often found and it is spread in larger quantities!

Wilhem, I bought mine many years ago, do not remember how many, and never have seen it again for sell in this time, IMO it's not a copy, but who knows.

I do have this as a reproduction about ten years or more. Saw it also
in the collection of a collector-friend and a few years ago at a militaria-show in Germany. I know where this photo originally comes from. This person supplied through the years many reproductions from material he owns!
