Need opinions on Kriegsmarine Tunic and Breeches...

    Hi all,

I just received this nice Kriegsmarine set and would like some opinions. The only flaw I can find is the one missing button. It even came with a spare set of shoulder boards in one of the pockets

I'd also like to know if there is any way to trace the numbers within the tunic to a division or unit so I can figure out where this uniform was during the war. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

Hello, nice set congratulations . German made tunic from a well know KA tunics maker and nice French made trousers. About the numbers, sizes and month-year of fabrication, so no chance to trace it to any unit. I have never seen a KA tunic with unit identification.

        Thanks guys!

What do you guys think about how high the eagle is positioned relative to the pocket? Is this normal?

Also, what are your thoughts as to the reason the boards do not have the typical embroidered anchor in gold? Are the blank boards simply an indication that this set was never issued (it came with a spare set of blank boards inside the pockets as well)?

km-spain... Who is the maker of the trousers? I cannot make out the logo.

          Hello,

tunic is unused, so probably eagle has been added later, it's hand stitching. I agrre with you that it's too hight.

Late war boards sometimes were with out any unit device, so is not rare. If you want to move the spare pair I'm youyr man

By the stamp trousers were made by MAGFA - PARIS in 1942 or 1943.

Thanks km-spain. After I posted my question regarding the breast eagle, I did a little research and found a fantastic site with a TON of KA troop photos. It seems the location of the eagle above the pocket was not as well enforced as other branches. Some photos show the lower part of the circle touching the top ridge of the pocket seam, others show the eagle as high as mine. Here are snippets of a few photos...

The site I'm referencing is this one... http://marineartillery.com/photos/originals?page=3 Use the arrows in the top-right to navigate through the photos.
