Hi, in 1999, (I was 14 at this period), a friend of me tell me he find a gorget of gendarmerie like "La grande vadrouille" but when he offer me I was so surpprised, because I never see it, can you help?
who know this model?

I have never seen such a thing before, but for some reason I like the way it looks. Alltough it seems a breast/pithhelm eagle and two uniform buttons, and some craftmanship.

It doesn't look like a modern repro IMHO.

no mark, no emblem
the face was cleaned by me when I had the gorget, and the eagle go out.
the gorget is taken by the grand father of my friend, who worked in the harbourg of St Malo

Note how the button shanks are punched through the gorget allowing the chain to be attached. Very crued...definately not rzm quality...either fake or locally made (make shift item) with existing materials and intended for harbor (dock) patrol. Without the story its a bunch of parts...with the story, who knows?
