KM Steuermann badge

Just wondered if this Steuermann badge was real or not. It is on a black cloth backing.

From my understanding, this is a Heer insignia piece, not Kriegsmarine. I would expect to see it on a green backing.
Actually, I don't recall seeing a metal version of this. (?)
This is just my opinion and observation.

This is a Heer badge. If on black it would be worn on a panzer tunic of a panzer pioneer. They were made in metal of a german nickle style. This appears, to me , to be a cast copy of the badge. The early nickle style version is thinner and much better defined in execution.
