Kriegsmarine shipboard grey gas mask canister

Those of you with an interest can see the thread I posted about this item, marked with FPN 35166 indicating its use on Minesweeper M322 in the 22. Minensuch-Flottille in Norway and the Baltic (30.7.1941-28.2.1942). It was found recently in Norway, where I purchased it.

I am unsure if the gasmask is original to the canister. It is in extremely good condition, however. It is not KM marked. Is that unusual_
