U-Boat Compass?

Hey y'all:

I had a fellow contact me about this item he is calling a compass. I've not gotten it yet, but I'm working on it!

So, is this a compass or some other instrument? Seems this Sub saw quite a bit of action sinking over 40 ships - good info on the Net.

That company definitely made marine navigational instruments during the war from what I can gather. Not sure what it was used for. You might want to contact uboat experts on that one. Very cool item!
