KM stopwatch for review

this is stated as KM stoppuhr. Original or fake?

The "M" Looks funny IMHO; making this somewhat suspicious as a post war doctored model. I believe that most Marine mark had the look of what M as you can see shown as the font.

That said, in this comparison, they do look a bit different, but if that means the one posted at the top is postwar applied, I do not know. Does it look different to you?

To my eye, those two stopwatches look the same. If one is good, then they both are, in my opinion.

Yes, the same I think. Differences due to the angle of the photo. I do not see anything about either that indicates new engraving. Just as is the case with badges, if you use flash or the wrong lighting, you will can make the watch look like it was new engraving I guess. However, to me, they are both period.

I am continuing to look for another original, as I want one in my collection.

For a fully operational stopwatch, that was not a bad price. A stopwatch is the most difficult of all watches to find in that condition.

I note the watch was sold in Maine. Many artifacts have come off the U-boats that surrendered there after the war ended. You never know, but if I was the one who bought that watch, I would ask a bit about its history.
