    Admiral Rank KM boards?

    Hello,

I have this pair of shoulderboards laying around but don't know exactly what they are ment for.
Are they ww2 issue or post/pre war?
    Vice-admiral?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards Jim

They are not properly configured for any general rank TR boards I am familiar with. I believe the cannons were ordnance of some type. Possibly another country that used a similar form.

        Thank You Richard!

If someone does know the country these belonged to please let me know.

The base sure looks German, I was sure some of the KM collectors would know. Sometimes it takes a while.

It is not a general rank because general rank shoulder boards have three cords together instead of two. The centre cord could be either silver (aluminium) or gold, depending on the period. These have only two cords.

Those are for a "Fregattenkapitan." The crossed cannons indicate artillery ordance career insignia. Pages 154 and 155 "DIE KRIEGS-MARINE" Uniforms & Traditions, by John R. Angolia and Adolf Schlicht. Volume 1.

The ordnance cannons remind me of the ones that you normally find on Army ordnance boards from WW2. I'm going to go with Reichsmarine boards as the Kriegsmarine did have the four strands as oppose to just the two. Below, Kriegsmarine Ordnance and a set of Fregattenkapitan boards from the Signals Branch for comparison.
