Hello Andreas, do you have the regulation, can you share with us it? The references that we have is that these insignias were replaced in 1935 by the mercurian staff.

For sure they were used after February 1934.

But also are some references of their use after November 1938.

These changes were not always made immediately and it took time to make them, sometimes even much, so you only the exact data of the regulation gives us the exact date of that change.

Great discussion on this badge. As I am fairly new to collecting KM trade insignia I was not sure about it. It's now gone from the site so someone has bought it.

          Cheers,
          Larry

That's the "danger" by putting things on forums maybe it would be wise next time to contact one of these experts by pm instead of making things publicly?

              Hello Eduardo,

I'm sorry for my late Reply.

I only took a Little look in the German volume of Angolia and I made a failure.
He wrote the insignia was replaced "around 1934" and not "1934".

Because of your Statement and the existing photographs, I tried to find it in the regulations. The Problem is, I have a lot of Army documents, but there are a lot of gaps in the Navy and Airforce orders.
The result is, I could not find it. But there are two evidences came out. The first is, both (M and V) does not turn up in a list from January 1938 which describes the "new" actual order for Career insignia. The second is, the V was definitely earlier replaced as the M. There exist a couple of uniform plates which are showing only the M and the mercurian staff.
The mercurian staff was introduced as an officers Career insignia on 1st April of 1935 (order from 26th February), so was this the reason for the Change of the enlisted and NCO insignia? Or did the mercurian staff for enlisted exist at this time, and the officer insignia was only fitted?

If I can find anything related, I will post it.

              Best regards,
              Andreas

Here are, as far as I am concerned, the rarest ones in a form of sailor's career patches. I think that all of them existed in both variants, as a Maat and Obermaat.

Some of the more common insignias seem to be hard to find.
