    Hello Martin:
Not sure such a KM-FT patch was ever even worn.
    Davis-1975 "F&SOTTR" (ISBN 0-668-03620-6) on page
    131 cites a 28 Aug 1936 KM-FT insignia order, and shows
two versions (blue & white), but with better detail than
your posted example. But he fails to provide a photo of
such a patch being worn. So not sure it was ever used.

(below) period photos of KM fahnen without any FT patches.

Hi - and thanks for your reply
      But yes, it was worn:
      http://www.wehrmachtlexikon.de/krieg...rmelschild.php

and you are right, there must be a white one too...(i never see it on a picture)
My patch is directly from the vet family, but we all know that´s not a automatic criterion for an Original issue

      best regards,
      Martin

The standard bearer shield shown in the first post is not a typical original. In so rare and expensive badges I would never accept a non textbook example.

Before MANIONS became a minefield he sold his EXTENSIVE insignia collection in the late 80 s ..Included were a white and ALSO I THINK BLUE one..Quite original..as said though where is a foto of 1 being worn ??? Billbert

The first one shown is a copy. The originals are quite stunning and also obvious when shown. Someone has/had some originals for sale...I just don't recall where.

                  Hi Guys,

I have ZERO experience with these patches, but have a question. The ones posted by Mike look machine embroidered to me (seeing the reverse would allow us to say for sure). For other KM insignia (eagles, career patches, etc.) it seems to me we see an evolution from hand embroidered to machine embroidered as you go from the mid 1930's to the late 1930's.

So what would this insignia have looked like back in 1936? Or was it only introduced later?

                  Best regards,
                  ---Norm

I believe the insignia posted by Mike is all hand embroidered, as are luftwaffe examples.

                      agree they are hand embroidered.
I don't like the thick, coarse bullion on the patch in the first post...

                        Hi Guys,

Can anyone (Mike?) please post the reverse views of these patches?

                        Best regards,

I think they used to me on the Ruptured Duck, if so, they are no longer there. I checked, but could be mistaken about where I saw them.

The only image of a reverse I could find were with these blurry images from a sold item on a vendor's site, "Ulric of England". At least it gives some idea.

                            Best regards,

And here's what seems to be the Heer equivalent of the patch posted by Martin at the top of the thread. This was posted a few years back on another forum at which time it was deemed to be a reproduction.
