Kriegsmarine insignia confusion :-(

Hello,

I am looking for a full and comprehensive list with explanation of Kriegsmarine insignia. I have some books, but of no big help, and on the web I have no big success.

What I am confused about is Obermachinist rank. I cannot find insignia for that, i only have Obermaschinenmaat.

I would like to equip my paradejacke as per Hans Johannsen after 1st of march 1939. and berore 1st of october 1942 when he got the leutnant rank.

What insignia could he have on his jacket?

OK, so Obermachinenmaat was a NCO without a portepee, and Obermachinist was NCO with portepee.

The Obermaschinist has shoulder boards with two pins, between the pins was engineering branch mark.

So, Obermaschinish was not wearing Messjacke, or he did?
