IMHO I believe that they are both original. I have been looking for the first style of eagle that you posted for some time now. It is a very nice early Coastal Artillery private purchase breast eagle. Thanks.

Tunic is on the way and so i only have two dealers pics....hope that helps

Tunic is from 1938 and i a wonderful condition without any damages or moth holes

The top eagle, which I like very much, has a green background/base material and would be incorrect for this jacket. The eagle needs to have a dark blue back ground like one of these eagles.
