Can anybody help me identifying a Kriegsmarine feldpostnumber.

it's: N8238/41 E Unit 3./I Neumann??

This unit was probably situated during 1943 - 1945 in Holland in the city Den Helder or Amsterdam.

Het nummer wat je opgeeft is geen feldpostnummer maar volgens mij zijn dienstnummer met datum van opkomst

Conclusie geen Kriegsmarine onderdeel

Hello, that is not a feldpost number, in the sailor ID number.

N - Nordsee naval station
8238 - Sailor number
41 - year that the sailor joined into the KM
E - Suplementary soldier of coastal artillery units

And Neumann is propalble the family name of the sailor.

This information came from an photoalbum which belonged to Kriegsmarine Kanonier Josef Zehentbauer who was stationed during the war in Amsterdam and Den Helder (Holland). The album was sold at an auction a few weeks ago. Unfortunately i wasn't able to get it. Anyway, the album points out that Zehentbauer was sent to the island of Texel during the Georgian uprise on the 6th of april 1945. The album says he was placed within the Marine Schützen Division 21 but i can't trace this unit. I heard there was a Kampfgruppe Neumann formed to surpress the uprise.
