    KM boards

This is all my KM and CA that I posses. I really like the CA boards, just don't see a lot of them for sale. When I do, there gone.

Very nice the Kusten Art boards, are they an early type?

        Regards,

To be honest, I don't know. What would be the clue for early KM or CA boards? HEER boards are obvious. Please let me know what to look for. Dave.

I was thinking the tress looks to be the early type that is similar to Reichsheer tress, though it does look a bit like Heer tropical tress, though these look more golden I think. As you will know, early Heer types have the pointed ends, but even late war KM or Kusten Art still show this feature, so that is not a help.

            Regards,

            Jerry

Stug, those are some nice field gray boards and I agree they are later war. That bottle green drivers strap to the left is the earlier, pre-war version. I am always on the look out for field gray straps and you don't see them that often!

OK. I looked at the tress and it appears to be gold and a metallic construction, not the cloth late war or the gold cotton tress. You are right, I like these a lot and the 2 pair you show are great pieces!!! PS I could use some KM enlisted buttons as you have own your boards for display. Suggestions are welcome. Thanks. Dave.

Dave, on the button question, probably the way to dress up the boards is to find some current marine shoulder strap buttons. Probably easier and cheaper. I haven't seen any lately and I'm looking for a pair of silver ones for a pair of Beamter boards. I know where to find a set, but paying $32.00 for a pair of buttons............ Here is a set of Coastal Arty Boards converted from Private to SGT.

                    Greetings All,

Nice boards Jack!!! I used to have a pair in field grey with the embroidered device. The guy turned them over and put on the NCO tresse on the underside. Looked nice. I am sure the enlisted man was just a tightwad and didn't want to get another pair of boards!!

                      Fred,

Of course he was a tight wad! After all, I just painted the brown bars black and the brown oak leaves black! Especially when they were sewn on

                        Greetings Jack,

A magic marker was less expensive than a trip to the tailors shop!!

So True! I went to pin on's as I also felt it showed confidence in upward mobility
