Beutiful KM display...I have been looking for one of these officer of the line reefer jackets for sooooo long with out luck, this one is stuning...it is named?
Like you, it took me ages to find a jacket that really appealed. I was just lucky to see it when David Shirlin posted it on his site. With patience and perseverance, you'll find something too. Best of luck with your hunting.
Michel,
Yes, I believe it's an upgraded tunic. The rings are nicely sewn into the sleeve seam. I've also found several photos of the five-button style being worn during the WW2 period.
Inside is a tiny white label with blue embroidered "H Bender." I found a Leutnant Heinz Bender in the 1 June 1941 rank list. Next to his name was a hand-written date 1.9.44 which I presume is a promotion.
I can't fit a smaller ribbon bar as the loops are spaced to suit the length you see here.
A while ago I asked for assistance regarding this name but didn't get any replies.
I'd greatly appreciate any further information. Thanks for your interest.
