    Kriegsmarine leather overcoat

Hey all; I have the chance to get this 'Kriegsmarine leather coat", but I'm suspicious about a couple of things. Although the dagger hanger and the general cut look okay, I don't trust the markings much. What's the general verdict? And if it's real, what would one expect to pay for it?

I would say civilian leather greatcoat but wait is mine advise for other suggestions.

I like the lining, typically for leather KM uniform jackets! The dagger slit is a pro in my oppinion.

But, the cut of the collar closure and the fact it is single breasted are not so possitive. IMHO the collar should close more thight.

I think it has a great chance of passing the test!

It IS actually double breasted...you can cleary see where the opposite side buttons were at one time.
The blanket lining, old looking military style stamps (do the measurements match)
and dagger suspension strap are indeed ALL good signs of it being military, but does it have a dagger hanger slit? That area has really been shown ... (the inside left pocket area) ...

I like it more than I don't, but its still an odd one... The fact that the neck area does not close right is a negative, no neck closing hooks? Unless worn by a RK recipient per the regulations the neck area should be closed when worn and its not closing right...(no neck closing hooks?) That's a big issue (negative) for me...

Also the leather straps at the bottom are odd...Would be for strapping the panels around the legs for motorcycle use...So not really what you would expect to see with a war timeofficer's leather overcoat... Does it appear that those were possibty added later on in life? So post war used as motorcycle gear?

That is not a dagger hanger but the strap to close the inside flap of the coat. The stamps are bogus. What is it with all these civilian leather coats lately trying to pass as military coats?

They come in brown, black and dark green, with or without buttons - just make a search on google for: "vintage Ledermantel"

Indeed Naxos to me it seems also to be a strap to close the inside flap and not to be a dagger hanger as some of us think. The lining looks promising but the rest gives me a bad vibe
