        "Definately" British-style mounting with "lugs & cotter pin".....don't know exactly who or what...it's for, however. "Anchor" looks German-style"

          Comes from an estate of a uboat crew member. But he lived Long after the war....

            Complete speculation...could it have something to do with those Kriegsmarine personnel (POWs) who remained in British Service clearing mine, etc. long after the war? Seem I remember they eventually had almost "Auxilliary status" within the RN for thier dedication & bravery (many were killed!)

            That would explain the "British-made"/"German-design" (?)....but I'm only speculating, as I said!
