Hi,
This instrument was found in an old military depot in La Spezia.
This Italian city in World War II, was an important base of the Italian navy, in a case, however, were found some of these tools.
Someone would be explain me what they were and at what age they go back?
Thanks. The diameter is 18,5 cm. - the height is (about) 9 cm.

I would guess that this is a propeller rpm repeater gauge. Forward-voraus, reverse-zuruck.
Probably not from a U-boat, but a surface ship.

Hello Partisan,

I don't believe this gauge is form a U-Boat. The U-Boat Type VIIC diesel engines by MANN or GW only had a maximum of 490 rpm. [Second Photo] - The NTW gauge that you posted is marked 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500, and a similar negative value is from a Type VIIC. The other Type U-Boat diesel engines would have the same characteristics (Not high speed).

Your gauge in question looks to have an indicator of 5, 10, and 15 times a factor of 100. This high rpm speed definitely eliminates the gauge as being from a U-Boat.
