    Scharnhorst Sugar bowle!

    Hi,

A couple of weeks ago I bought this bowl; a piece of tableware. The tableware is according to seller bought in Germany years ago.

Could there ever have been a special designed tableware on the battleship Scharnhorst?

    Hi Roger,

I also saw these on Ebay. The seller had more engraved stuff, which made me suspicious.. It is not impossible that something like this would have existed, but then we would have seen many more items like these named to large or small vessels. Why have the luxury of that?
Personally I would not have bought it.

    Kind regards,

    Maurice

I think the original suger bowl is located at approximately 70 nmi (81 mi) north-northeast of North Cape - Norway at a depth of nearly 980 ft........

I know that some people pick up antique pieces of silverware and engrave them with name of famous ships or military units. I bought a pocket watch engraved to a SS division many years ago. Of course the engraving was no good.

I aware that this object never were picked up by a deep sea diver But the bowl does not necessary need be a fake just because it not served on the Scharnhorst final journey.
