My eldest girl gave me this today , is this a command centre ?

Script is a little dull but intact as is the ribbon.

Eduardo, Thanks for the info on the tally.
I must admit I am becoming a sucker for German cap tallies , having some Royal Navy ones for ships like HHS Belfast and Sheffield.
A few years ago I turned down opportunities to buy ones from Scharnhorst and Gneisenau which I now bitterly regret , attached one from Admiral Hipper.

James, nice cap tally, I don't have it in my collection . This is a very nice collection, but very expensive whenu you have all the Schlachtschiff, Panzerschiff, Kreuzer, Zerstorer, ... ones. I have arround 50 in my collection and I don't know how display them.

Eduardo , for me this is the long haul it is going to take a while and it may be expensive - dealers will be my main outlet for obtaining - nothing to be found locally to me - estand being the best alternative.

Likewise I have no idea how to display them - at present I keep them in a corner unit which has become something of a "glory hole".
I have only 7-8 Kriegsmarine tallies , the others are all Royal Navy , one or two are 1950's the remainder are all 39-45 two "as they were taken off the cap" , still tied at one end.

A few years ago I bought for a very few £'s a number of tallies from the Bundesmarine , these had been cut down - about 10 of them - at soemtime I will get these into a frame to display the "script only".

Reflecting back I am bugged I was not more courageous earlier as I would have most of the major named ships by this stage - the down side is the cost
(8-10 good cap tallies would translate into a good set of binoculars ).
