Kreigsmarine Clock

I don’t know a ton about this, I bought this from a gentleman who sells estates out. He said the guy who owned it was a friend and a Korean War veteran so didn’t know where he got it from. Hoping someone can shed some light on it for me. It appears to be waffenampt in the lower reverse, almost a lacquer coating not sure if that’s original or not. Thanks for the help!
