Looks like a nice original gold specimen to me as well but I'm a bit surprised you mention its "nice and heavy" because the visible welds for the hardware on yours (like on mine) are typical of cupal eagles (copper coated aluminum) which are light. Some variations do exist in both cupal (light) and tombac/brass (heavier) but the hardware attachement and the finish are different on the heavier ones
Still a nice bird and I attached another cupal specimen to compare

That’s a nice bird full gilding. I’ve bought it to go with a kriegsmarine dagger I have. I’ll post a picture once it’s all boxed up.
