Has anyone more Information about the Marineartillerieabteilung 503? I am getting soon the Tunic from the Commander of this Unit and try now to find out as much as possible about them.

Marineartillerieabteilung 503 was formed in Randaberg and the archipelago of Kvitsøy in Western Norway in July 1940 from the Marine-Artillerie-Abteilung Stavanger. The Abteilung was subordinate to the Seekommandant Stavanger.

Korvettenkapitän Hans-Joachim Hesse (00 Jul 1940-00 Oct 1940)
Korvettenkapitän M.A. Dipl.Ing. Franz Rohwedder (00 Oct 1940-00 Apr 1943)
Kapitän zur See Fritz Böhme (00 Apr 1943-00 May 1945)

Stab/MAA503 in Kvitsöy bei Stavanger
1./MAA503 in Stavanger with three 100mm SKL/40 Bofors guns
2./MAA503 in Kvitsöy with four 170mm SKL/40 guns
3./MAA503 in Vigdel with four 170mm SKL/40 guns
4./MAA503 in Egersund with four 127mm SKC/34 guns
5./MAA503 in Nordberg with three 150mm Uto C/16 L/45 guns (from 9.42)
6./MAA503 in Närbö with four 240mm KM93/96(f) guns (formed 12.44)

Thank you André. I just was hoping to get some more Details, Pictures ect. The usually Data i already have, also what the Marine Archives had in there Files. Maybe someone have something in there Collection about the 503.

They are personal letters. First is a sort of sweetheart note, and the second, is a letter describing the circumstances of a death to the wife & daughters how their father was killed.
