    Sidecap question

Hi,guys while cleaning some stuff i noticed a curious thing in my KM sidecap. The final part was made with another fabric that is Darker.I can say it was added because there are sewings you don't find in other sidecaps.A forum member told me that in his opinion is an original war time enlargement made when the cap was fabricated. They were common in coastal artillery ones .I post it here as he advised me to do.What do you think this is? Was in your opinion war time done?
    Thanks

As a sign of resistance, some French tailors deliberately made too small sidecaps, however the caps were not accepted by the Germans, send back and the tailore were forced to enlarged it. Since you have a French cap, it could well be some of these.

Collectors myth. They probably had a bunch of tiny unissued caps and instead of making new caps they just reworked these smaller cap imo.
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Period enlarged cap. I've seen it more often in fieldgrey French made caps, but it was done in blue ones as well.
