This Para helmet OK?

I know nothing about helmets; I'm an Imperial medal guy. I suspect this seller of being one of the eastern Europe guys working through a proxy server, selling the grave helmets and Latvian fake EK's and DK's. But there are so many bids on this, is there a chance it's real?

Could you tell us what is wrong with it?

So far, based on the photos, it does not appear to be a reproduction. Yes, the straps are missing. But, again based on the photos, the shell and liner may be original.

Hello Mr.Willi,form the 6th picture showed on the auction,I think the shell mark "ET66" is sorta looks weird,also the trail on the rolled edge which pressed the machine looks not deep enough or looks like none,these reasons leads me to believe it might be a fake.

Tony, I agree that the "ET66" is a weak stamp.......and I agree that the rim detail is also a little weak.

I just can't tell from those photos for sure.

I was of the understanding that repro helmets are all marked for size 71. This is not to say that this helmet is good, I have no idea and know next to nothing of para helmets. I am just curious if the faker's have started to mark helmets with a size other than 71.

I have a repo FJ M-38 with unmarked shell, but i don't know it's origin. It's heavy steel & the rim shows an external crimp line, otherwise it looks good. Anyone know where these come from?

Keep in mind that any shell can be stamped or restamped after the fact as well as during manufacture.

Not a good thing to go for looking only at the ET71 stamp, just one thing to riefly check, Yes they have been using the other shell sizes as well.

I dont like the decal on this helmet, bolts, liner looks probably is replaced, stiching on the liner, pads, shell is also repainted.

My first impressions looking at the helmet is that its a fake.I pity the poor guy who spent the large amount of money on it.My opinion is subject to seeing it in the metal1 SPEAK AS SOMEONE WHO IS WAITING FOR A STALINGRAD HELMET FROM EBAY. I ONLY SPENT 92 UK POUNDS so it wont break the bank if its dodgy!ps sorry for shouting James/Ireland.
