Hello,
I got this helmet from Vienna recently and noticed it was made my Berndorf. This seems to be quite a rare maker.
The helmet itself is an Austrian 1930s Gendarmerie issue with its original paint still visible and with its original liner, chinstrap and even drawstring still on place. It was modified after 1938 as a German police helmet.
Now my question is whether the maker has a relevant effect on the value of this helmet. I saw one in excellent condition on Bill Sheas website for crazy money but that probably is rather a phantasy price there.
Please let me know what you think.
Best regards
Ben
