Green police civic helmet value...

I will try and rebuild the skyscraper, from the bottom floor up......The helmet started it's life as a green Luftschutz helmet, period....Green similar to the smooth pea green paint used by the early Polizei, Army, and SS......It's liner is proper, the chinstrap using the metal clip on the one end.....The outline of the lacquer on the front where the decal once rested....

I should add, pictures are not fully indicative of what this helmet looks like...When he pulled it out, the green was much lighter than the pictures show.....This and the Police decal had a slight gold tint from aged lacquer......The party decal exhibiting scratches one would expect from GI's attempting to deface or remove, as if taunting a defeated enemy with a sharp knife......One blow leaving a slight dent/scrape to the bottom of the decal......The scrape than spanning the body of the decal, meanwhile the dent/scrape having turned dark brown with age....Crusted lacquer exhibiting where the missing border of the party decal used to be...

My initial opinion from the pictures also left me concerned with the decals.....However, after looking at three Police helmets I own, I realized none of them (Polizei decal) are similar.......All have variations....In fact, I looked through Police helmets on the Collector's Guild....There were about five or six, all with varied patterns to the eagle's head, wings, and wreath.....

Finally, I will end....Would adding fake Police decals to an already bottom shelf helmet make sense?.....Are these decals really going to make a big difference in value?...Not the way an SS (or perhaps a borderless police) decal would....Bodes

Don't understand it...When I look at the picture w/the Polizei Adler, I can clearly see a greenish hue where the flash hits the shell....Plus I'm looking at it on a small screen and MY eyesight isn't always the greatest.....Bodes
