So to speak.. Green Civil non Edelstahl types are quite scarce also .
Here's a forum thread with a black M34 Edelstahl....I don't believe Deathshead however was insinuating that these (Edelstahls) were exclusively green....Bodes

Also to add to this thread....While browsing through an old Manion's catalog, I came across what appeared to be a helmet similar to the one posted by Deathshead....Exception being it has the salt pepper vents.....Called out as being "VT style"......Bodes

this is the same exact type I was talking about. these aren't referred as the Edelstahl type even though they are marked edelstahl..

The Edelstahl type we all referrer to is what DH posted. I have also seen one or two of that type painted matte black. DH owns one as far as I know.

Don’t forget whatever we call them , they are just collector definitions.
There are so many different styles and paint colors in civic helmets.

Feuerschutz helmets are mainly black but green is possible too.
Luftschutz are mainly dark blue but can be black and green.
RLB are mainly green but can found in grey color as well.
Many green RLB transitioned to LS and were repainted and redecalled.

So it is a vast and interesting collecting field.

Even though you're not telling me what I want to hear, I have to go by your experience and knowledge....After all you live in Europe where these originated and helmets being your thing........I'm appreciative of your input.....My best, Bodes

A thread without photos seems a waste of time IMHO

Saw the helmet today and it was interesting.....As you stated it was a civic helmet.....Upon closer inspection, you could see the outline of a Luftschutz decal in front.....It was than converted for police/fireman use....Bodes

Don’t like them decals. Suffice to say not worth 400 usd which was the question asked.

he says its green but in the photos it sure looks black ?

but the decals are fake so end of discussion really..

                                Not original..

At least we had a decent discussion about Civil variants.. lol
