very odd alloy WW1

I got this the other day . It is made of alloy quite thick and weighs in at over 1.5 kg.
Is this some odd CAST repro.
or were these some odd production item ?????
I haven't got a bloody clue .

Not a WW1 helmet I’ve ever seen. Post in that section for more opinions but I don’t think it served any time during a war for anyone. Prop? Yea or a bad fake.
