Hello forum
it's been a long time since I posted any helmets.
I have this helmet I bought from a son of a WWII veteran.
He said his dad brought it back from the war. Supposedly a Japanese soldier had it as a souvenir when he picked it up in the Pacific.
The maker/size is SE66.
The liner band/washers/rivets look untouched and marked 1936. It appears to have dried up blood stains to the interior which helped destroy any of the original liner which was removed.
The net says the Chinese bought around 300,000 M35 helmets from ET and SE from 1935 to 1937. It appears to be a rare helmet since most were intentionally destroyed?
Silly question. Why would the Germans sell helmets to the Chinese nationalist army, who were fighting the Japanese, and ally of Germany?
