Possibly shedding some light on an old thread. Movie Prop Helmet

I recently picked up this helmet locally from an old collector and researched it a bit and came across this thread from 2015 with a link in it to a discussion on these years ago

The guy I got it from said he purchased it in 1973 from a friend of his that was short on cash when they were in college. He said the guy told him it was a set prop from the show The Rat Patrol. He did not have any documentation with it when I bought it yesterday but it was 50.00 so why make up a story only to sell it so low. Anyway the one in the old thread is identical, same color, same decals and placement of the decals. I know its been speculated that these were calibration tools for the alignment of the liner holes but my question is why would there be at least 2 of these that were painted in the same way? Perhaps both were used on that set?
I also see the stamp inside as previously discussed in the old thread N-43 DIE, small Upper case D with a large I in the center and smaller lower case E. Has there been anymore info discovered on these lately or any thoughts on the tie in to the 2 I mentioned, mine and the one posted in the old thread? It is quite heavy a little over 3 lbs. He did say the guys brother was an extra on the set of the show and this one was a set prop, not actually a helmet that was worn and its been in his collection since 73. Any thoughts? Here are pics of mine, no liner in this one but may have had one of some kind years ago.

Some more pics. I have watched a couple of episodes of the show that this supposedly came from and it is similar in color to some they used. I also noticed they used a variety of helmets in just the 2 episodes I watched, some look like M42's painted tan with decals and some without and also some WW2 German helmets as well that look grey. Do these have any value? Rare? Just trying to figure out what it is exactly.

where in The Rat Patrol have you seen these helmets used? i've watched several episodes and could only spot possibly fake M16s and M35s, not these M42 types... thanks

I have watched about 5 episodes since yesterday out of I think 54 or 58 episodes and I have not seen one as of yet. But as I said the guy told me it was a set prop that was not worn and who knows if it ever made it into a scene at all. It is what is and all I know is what I was told. Like anyhing else that comes with a story who knows unless you were there maybe his buddy lied to him in 73 when he bought it, maybe the guy lied to me as well but why make it up to sell it for 50 bucks? Its possible though, he did say if he had documentation he would be asking more for it. I bought it as a novelty and didn't buy it for the story so really does not matter too much if the story is BS.
