What is really interesting is the Tri-shield if I'm correct was actually copied from the
Reich battle flag (black/white/red)? WWI colors are the same as far as I can tell? To me it would almost be like putting the USA colors up side down? But I guess it could happen? I would like to see more photos of these insignias with the colors switched around. Very interesting!

The flag is very obviously inverted here, which I doubt would have been accepted at the time. Presumably the badges were repainted at some point post war.
