Saddest camoflaged M40 :(

Alright I know this is a teaser but you have to stay calm

I've had this lid for some time now but never took my time to work on it as it's welted on top and I had other more interesting shells lying about. A few days ago I pulled this one out and began picking it apart from the dome and down. Just to let you know this is roughly 10 hours of work and the paint is not coming off voluntarily.

Any idea as to why is has been crudely welted together on top on the dome?

Yes..what a pity I had a similar one too.

That's sad, I really like these. First one I've come across though. The camoflage paint on this looks like it had a rough life before getting painted over.
