Austrian Luftschutz Helmet Help Please

While the quality of the decal is good the lack of dots on the top seem to be a problem as they certainly are not worn off. Some of the modern copies are done silk screen, like originals so lack of pixels and saw tooth edges can be avoided.

Read this link and we get an idea of how reproduction decals are being made much better. Kind of pisses me off.

I know that they are a long way off. Sorry I wasn't saying they were good. I should have expressed that better.

My point was that their effort if followed up will lead to far better fakes. They recognize the need for the proper method of making them, they know they need the proper inks and materials ,and they realize they need to purchase originals to scan and digitize for correct graphics. Someone who knows these facts could take it to a whole new level if they tried to. Just saying.

My humble apologies for diverting this thread Edwin. It was not my intention. With all due respect to Anders L. (who knows his stuff) I was trying to say that not all modern fakes have pixels or saw tooth edges.

That being said I collect civil helmets and while I really like the helmet I can't say that I really like the decal. If I did I would buy it in a moment. The fact that it has some random dots in the top row but not filled in and the letters of Luftshutz make it not for me. Is it a rare Austrian decal? Maybe as the close shots give an indication of how it was made but leave me with some questions. Just my opinion and once again sorry to divert.
