    Saved from the Fakers

Here is my "no decal" M42. Got this one from Larry Stewart at the '04 MAX. It wasn't cheap for an M42, but a better investment in the long haul than the items I sold off at the show to buy this and a few other goodies.

Shell is an EF68 with a 61 liner... a direct vet buy for Larry in 1992.

Nice helmet, Mike. It has a charm and character all to itself...even with no decals. I remember when these used to be quite plentiful until the majority were turned into fake SS and camo helmets by the low-lifes of this world.

        Cherish it.

And a very nice size to boot....That in itself will make it desirable... Bodes

Ditto. I would only add that keeping the strap over the visor is not a good idea as it will tend to cause flaking & cracking.

              Here's a NS66 M42 with a 1943 dated chinstrap that I saved.

Great looking helmets. I sold all of mine. Sure would have liked to have them back. They are truely rare now.

Are you serious? They are actualy that rare nowadays? If so .
I would say that in France in 1944, probably around 50% of the helmets the germans had were ND 42's.

I've had a couple of those too , but sold them to upgrade my collection to ones with decals.
One that I sold to another vendor I found a week later , again for sale but the guy had put a fake luftwaffe decal on it.
