Looks good, and very nice to me, but wait to see what some more advanced collectors say.

That's my opinion as well , but I'm blessed with too good a nose. That darn smell , I must say I really have to press my nose against the top to smell something. I measured the decal and it's about 33/41 which is correct I believe.

So my question is would you buy it ?

I'm still studying this helmet (for several days now).

It's not that I want it to be original , but I want to make sure I don't pass up a good looking helmet (for me).
Plus I can learn a lot from it as well.

I'm now studying the scratches in the surface. My first thought was that if the green camo paint was applied after the war , why doesn't it cover the scars on the helmet. Almost every scar runs through the camo paint, revealing the surface under the cammo paint. The paint over the decal is strange to , the decal looks damaged before the paint was put over it , because on the left it cover a slice of removed decal , yet other parts of the decal are chipped. So if the helmet was after the war repainted how did they manage to paint it like this without covering at least part of the scars.
If you look at the top photo , you can see what I mean , green color and lots of uncovered scars (mind you some are covered with paint)

Do the fakers really make so much work out of it ?

Can you take some clear/close pictures using natural light? So far it looks ok but the pictures you took don't do it any favors. Lets see some better pictures if your able.

My time is up for checking the helmet out , I'm going to let it pass me by.
Just because of the smell, it bothers me too much.
                        Thx for your input.

Hi, I think you are doing the right thing. If you have any little doubts about the helmet, you will never be really happy with it in your collection.

My opinion is it might be good; but I hate to given an opinion unless I am certain in my own mind about what I am saying, otherwise it is really just a guess, which does not help anyone.

                          Cheers, Ade.

I have now have another helmet in sight. But it doesn't look as cool as this one. An M35 which looks like they smeared it with mud and cement. But hey it looks and smells original
