    SS Helmet - Opinions

    Hello everyone.

I'm going to put this helmet up for sale. I have owned it for a while so before putting it on the E-Stand I thought I would ask for opinions on it.

It's a M35, Q66, Lot Number 21057 which matches with Brian Ice's work and shows this helmet batch had a double decal SS.

Inside paint is original but outside has wartime over paint. I was told by previous owner that he lacquered decals to save them from flaking more, hence shiny look.

If OK, I thought £800 was about right for price. Don't want to jump the gun though.

    Thanks for any help!

Decals not looking good in my opinion. Can you get some really clear close ups ?
    Regards,

No way. Swaz looks too big to me for starters. The white area being too wide. All the damage to both decals seem to be hiding something also.

I agree, I am curious though about the lot nr range on this one.
Decal wear seems almost desperate however.

Looks like a Q, M35, reissue, attempted re decal with Pocher decals. I don't like the runic decal, looks bad, Party shield has a chance but doubtful.

Agree with each of the comments . . . this is not a real Double Decal SS, just a M35 Q with faker decals

Don't understand lot range query? Would you let me know the query. Thanks.

Because a real SS would fall in a certain section of the lot number production range, this is not an ironclad detection method as helmets were redecaled and reissued but it is a part of the process of authentication that can help shed light on things.

Hard to say from these photos imo. Leaning towards bad.
