    unknown German visor hat...help..!

Hi there, I was wondering if you could tell me what this visor hat is? What era it is and what you think it might be worth. In my opinion this is pre-1945 German Post Office...Condition is poor, but I would hope that you can see that from the six pics attached above...any question let me know..Cheers, Torsten. That looks like a postal one to me.

                  Hi,

I confirm. it's a Reichpostschafner visor. Could you see place of a missing eagle ?
You can see a nice one in the uniform forum : thread black visor-red piping
                  Best regards

There is no evidence of a missing Reichsadler...does anyone know what period these were in use?

                    Cheers, Torsten.

                      Postkleiderkasse 1942

The postal cap is marked with the stamp of the Postkleiderkasse in Duesseldorf (?) for 1942. I secured one of these in Berlin last year in mint condition save for the missing Hoheitszeichen for fifty Euros, and it was Lubstein with a Berlin Postkleiderkasse stamp, also for the year 1942. The cap here in this thread has seen better days, to be sure. It is interesting that Lubstein contracted for the Berlin PKlK, and Kuepper, in Wuppertal, for the one in Duesseldorf.

Donald, thank you very much...this was exactly the info that I was hoping for...so, Kuepper is the maker then??...it looks liek that the next line below his name ended in ...orf...Duesseldorf? Probably....thanks again. Cheers, Torsten. (ebay id german.militaria).

                          Kuepper Ronsdorf

Peter Kuepper's factory of the era was in Ronsdorf, which, I believe, is in the vicinity of Wuppertal. The latter is not especially far from Duesseldorf (north of Cologne in the Ruhr/Rhine region). That is, whenever I used to drive from Bonn to Berlin (and vice-versa...), I would pass through Wuppertal, and the Cologne-Dortmund Autobahn passes through there from west to east, &c. Do buy the Wilkins book to be utterly sure about Ronsdorf locale. I just traded away my post cap today, actually.....

I was in Wuppertal about two weeks ago and I will be going there again in about two weeks... I'll look out for signs for Ronsdorf...Cheers, Torsten.
