Camo Police m42 for opinions

Hello Helmet friends,

I have been offered this one by someone who normally on;y collects US items. I am always skeptical of any camo until proven legit, but I kind of liked this one. I would have liked to see more wear, but nothing jumped out at me as blatantly fake. But as the police are not usually seen in a camo configuration, I wanted to get your thoughts on it and the decals as well.

It does look good. it looks like one decal has been dug and they started on the second one.

I disagree the swastika has been covered and the Eagle painted around so the German soldiers could see who was a nasty Policeman! Rob

Too bad about the decals Jer. The helmet otherwise would have been a killer and many would be on your neck for it. Me too.

I have never seen an excavated decal that didn't look rubbed.

This decal still has sharp featured and looks as though it was masked off to me??

I like it....the eagle decal was painted around or masked around, the swas decal was painted over as it has a red background and this would be right on for a combat camo.Jmo but this is a nice and some what rare orig. police camo.

Very nice one, looks very similar to one that was for sale ( and sold) at Brent Antiques, same pattern, same way decal is dug out.

I have a tricolor polizei camo M40, wouldnt mind to own this one too.

Camo removal around decal is why I think its dug near the tricolor. Eagle very neatly dug IMO.
