Luft Ground Crew Cap

I am posting this cap for comments and opinions from the better informed.

Cap is in un-issued condition. It would appear that the eagle has been applied post-war is it is sewn through the rayon lining. Also, the incorrect eagle has been applied to the cap. An eagle on black background should be found on this cap.

Any concerns/comments/opions would be appreciated.

Maybe the cockade s missing and it was made for goring tank division??

From what I've read on the forum, correct me if I'm wrong, this would fit the criteria for an engineer type person. The reason for no cockade was to avoid getting the national colours dirty with oil or what not. It would also explain the cloth used, being it easy to clean. Just my 2 cents!

I think you called it correctly Calvin. The wrong eagle and recently added.

Yep, Calvin and Willi got it right. So does Gesetz. I think that the cap is okay. But, the eagle is definitely an add on. Shame too as these didn't always have insignia applied. I've got a blue HBT mechanic's cap that came with the blue coverall set. No insignia ever applied. Yet right as rain.
