Hi Bill, that is a nice cap. I like items that have a personal connection to them, such as the name tag showing the original owners initials that is sewn into yours.

I have always found these caps to be interesting as they copied the design of the British Field Service cap.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think the insignia has been replaced post war, it just doesn"t sit in the cap like I'd expect it to after 60 years+

I disagree. The hat is quite wrinkled and the insignia is hand sewn, which is not an unknown phenomena in the period. I see no problem with this piece.

I have seen this cap in person ,and it looks nice . I didn't see any problems with it up close .Great cap Bill nice to see it posted ...........!
