Best case scenario is that he was a bad speller. It should be Oberschutze. From what I can see, I don't care much for the liner.

Shell and paint look just fine.

Liner is one of the reproduction ones. It should red 'B&C Litzmannstadt 1943" on the side.

Your helmet is an M40, my favorite. It's an ET, right?

I am not up to speed on liners but I am capable of spotting a replaced one. Paint does look original in this case and for you efforts that is a decent price for the helmet as is. The name is too fresh for being period done and is there to enhance the value. K.Bock....sounds familiar but I am away from award references...

You did well. I like it and it will display well. The size of the vent and overall shape give away the different makers.

Look at how it is stitched in the rear. The stitching is in a odd place. The stitch count/stitch length on these is way off, also the thread is very modern looking (thin, synthetic etc.). Look where the band is riveted in the rear (by the stitching) it has rough, unrounded edges where it is joined. The leather on these is a very distinctive shape/form. These are the common reenacting liners available from dealers for around $50.
If you bought this helmet for a mannequin, that's probably a good thing since you will not have to worry about stress to the liner system.
                  Hope this helps.
