Helmet Liner Opinions Please

Greetings,

Could forum members please provide their opinions on this liner? This liner looks to be a variant from ones in which I am more familiar. I am also curious as to what would cause the leather to darken.

M33 liner

The leather looks to be from an Italian M33 liner in my opinion.

Yes ,it is an Italian m-33 liner .I have the same liner in an m-40 Quist helmet.Was this a common
practice when reissuing if Italian liners were available,or is it scarce to find an m-40 with an
Italian liner?I would appreciate any input ,as I have wondered about this configuration for the 20+
years I have had this helmet.
