Peipers crusher cap

I am a new member to this fine forum. I hope this is the right place to make this question. I own this book of Agte on Peiper and I would like to know which type of crusher was he wearing in late war when he took command of Pz Regiment ( i see he was wearing it in Hungary). Is it what some people call the early "heer teller" type, or is it just the normal one? what waffenfarbe did he use? is it triccott wool or gabardine? Thanks in advance for any answer and time you take to read this plea out of my curiosity
