GI bring back - M35 DD

I have a helmet I would like to have the helmet guys take a look at. I started a thread about my father’s ‘bring backs’ over in the SS forum. The thread took a different direction, and the helmet itself was not discussed much, other than to say it was a nice helmet. No one has even seen the liner yet. I don’t know much about German militaria, so forgive my inexperience.

I think it’s an M35 DD. I have read much over the last week about fake decals, so I’m showing close ups of those. If any other close ups are wanted, let me know. The first 4 pictures are with and without flash, but the darker pictures are the truer color.
Any opinions are appreciated.

Is there a chance you can take straight shots of the full decals. At this angle the SS decal appears to have been overpainted by someone. Can't be certain, but full decal shots could clear that up. Thank you

Is it possible for someone to post a picture as close up as mine is of a known factory decal?
I don't know what one should look like.

Only the party shield is original but retouched on the border.
About the runic shield I am leaning towards being a fake Pocher (not an original Quist) and retouched to conceal issues probably .
The outside paint is something that I don't like while the inner skirt shows the original paint; I see remnants of some paint on the liner band ...but it doesn't show any paint stroke in any area.
A messed up lid, which is better to leave where it is.

I agree, JW I saw this helmet on your other thread from a distance and liked it as I did not try and enlarge the pictures enough to make a proper judgment. They appear to have intended wear and scratches and the black on the decal borders and runes has been repainted. There is a chance imo that they may be original decals that have been heavily molested post war. Sorry, Bill

The fact that the runic is applied over rust bubbles is the first tip off that something here is amiss...at first glance it looked like it might have a chance...as Andrea already pointed out only the party shield is good. A curious situation with that...one wonders what went on with this lid and when.

Correcting myself. looking better again i deem maybe even the party isn't original.
Unbalanced design = the white circle looks very out of centre, and runic aren't Quist as stated, that was rather a Pocher SS but unless it is a reissue, the set is off.

The short version is, I think my brother did this as part of his Halloween costume.
My father had passed away so was not there to advise my brother not to do it.
Here's a picture of his costume shirt. With SS collar tabs and arm band added.
My mother had just lightly stitched those on so they were easy to remove.
I'm not going to touch the helmet, it will stay like it is.

And the paint really doesn't look that clever to me.
It looks more like......well, like a 14 year old did it.

I just wrapped up reading the entire thread...looks legit to me. The story and the haul, not this helmet.

So the question, when was this done, if the OP said these were bring backs and stored away until he brought them out? What else was "enhanced"?
