OPINION Opinion on Luftwaffe Tropical M40

Hi everyone. I am looking to purchase this helmet. I'd love to hear what you guys think of this. Two things I want to point out

1. I think the paint is lightly sprayed vehicle paint, but I am not 100% too sure.
2. Looking at the liner, would it possibly be a KIA helmet, with part of the liner taken out by the capturing solider?

Any help is appreciated!!

EDIT: I have posted this helmet on other forums, came back to me as DAK collectors loved it (comparing with the original pieces in their own collections), and helmet collectors told me to stay away from it.

100% correct...someone tried to raise the value of a plain jane pot.

In contrast to others commenting here, I would not be so hasty in dismissing the possibility that the helmet's camo paint is wartime applied. Its finish reminds me of other examples in tone. And it is a mystery to me how someone can make a call based on these shots alone, better photos would surely help.

I thought the paint looked OK from those photos, I would want to get in hand though.

I agree photos aren't good at all but the lacking of patina, lacking of scratches and microscratches, jagged rim and questionable wear are something you can see quite well here.
The one posted by Davis is pretty different to my eyes in fact.
90 % of camo out there would be good to see in hand definitely

Count me with Mike, would not call the paint bad from the photos. The paint looks ok, although the paint and liner are not in the best of shape.
