Helmet refurbished

A friend asked me to post this for comments. I advised him the whole things has been refinished, he however would like other opinions. So if you don't mind let him have more opinions. J

Varnished,restored, refurbished ...in any way we wan to describe it, that is!
The color looks odd but maybe is the bad light on pics.
The decal has been rubbed (which seems not matching with the rest of the shell), a BF from a Quist helmet; it seems good but this pattern is one of the most faked with a very close graphic to original ones, so would be better to get bigger close ups to evaluate at its best, since the decal looks placed on top of what looks like to be a repainting.

So the decal is a fake? I am sure the shell was repainted with the inside under the liner still very rusted and pint all over some other rust spots. J

A very good quality sharp close up would help for evaluating of course.
