Need help german m40 or m35

Hi there first of all thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out a bought a helmet couldn't see any markings so got out the old paint stripper and found this code DN482 at the rear of the helmet im still in the process of trying to find other markings if anyone got a brian ice's book could they please look it up & tell me its history that would put a smile on my face either way so thanks guys
