    oxalic ceaning

Hi, i used oxalic, 12 or 24 h in bath, cecking in the middle and washing with water and soft nonmetallic brush, good results , no problems for paint at all, but remember that the color of the rusted areas becomes more reddish in color.

I have tried oxlic acid a couple of times. If deeply rusted, vinegar is better, but in this case oxalic acid may do...but as mentioned, keep an eye on it and clean inmediately as soon as you take it out.

If the liner band will come out, then take it out first

I had one that the process turned the alloy of the band green, I then had to clean it off with brick acid

          Just watch it

That's what I would think the result would be.. I'm surprised by the optimism in this thread. Pleasantly, though! Hope to see positive results!

Do not leave in to long or in solution to strong as it will leave yellow deposits all the helmet that you will not get off. When you are finished with cleaning make sure you bathe the relic in a soda crystal solution to neutralise the acid.

This helmet should improve considerably if you do it right
